Charters & Destinations

There are many great locations in the Atlantic Ocean off the East coast of Canada including Le Celebre, a French 64 gun ship which sank in the Louisbourg harbor near the Fortress of Louisbourg in eastern Cape Breton. The wooden remains of the wreck rest in 8m / 25feet of water. Up to this day, many cannons and other parts of the Celebre shipwreck are still clearly visible. The wreck today is host to many marine animals including lobster. Dive charters may be arranged through us as Louisbourg Scuba Services is proud to be a permit holder for diving this historical wreck. Our instructor Harvey was fortunate enough to work with the professional archaelogists of Parks Canada over a period of several years mapping one of the historical shipwrecks in the harbour, during which time he learned much about this fascinating field.
Having always been in Louisbourg and diving all around this region, we have extensive experience with the dive sites in Louisbourg and the surrounding area, which translates into an enjoyable and safe diving experience for you.
Wreck diving is intriguing for divers and historians alike, so if you wish you could learn to dive shipwrecks, contact us today for more information on the appropriate diving courses.
